Digital Portfolio Examples

Screen Shot 2016-02-29 at 7.19.09 PMThis year, students have been organizing their portfolios onto our school’s google sites. Our hope is to have evidence of student growth in proficiency over their three years in the Spanish program. The portfolios include some video diaries and writing responses which are both presentational, and unrehearsed. We also have teacher interviews twice a year (interpersonal). Finally, you will also see student self-reflections on their proficiency and language acquisition journey.

Take a look around at a few students’ work. Some bugs may still need to be worked out (some pieces may not be viewable outside of our school’s domain), but I am sharing what I have at the moment. These are the students who made their portfolios available when I asked today. Hopefully I’ll have more to share in the future.  I’d especially like to post a range of abilities. These students are strong.

This is Amy’s Digital Portfolio. You can click back to see some of her work in 6th & 7th grade as well.   Shayla and Hannah each has her audio files from 6th to 8th grade. Finally, here you can see Jacob who has only been taking Spanish in this 8th grade class since September.

The purpose of these portfolios is to document growth in Spanish over time. Each piece represents a snapshot of student proficiency. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Ideas about technology to make this process better? Comment below or tweet to @profeashley .
